Canada Cliffs
The Canada Cliffs area is well known for both its traditional and sport routes, which can be found on the cliff line to the south of Echo Lake. The boulders, sometimes referred to as the Echo Lake boulders, are located among the trees just above the south end of the parking lot. Among the dozens of boulders littering the forest, there are only a few notable boulders in this area. Each of these, however, holds a number of high quality lines. The problems range from V1 warm-ups to double-digit projects. While there may only be two-dozen true lines in this area, at least half of these are of the highest quality. On the east face of one of the largest blocks in the area (the first you find above the south end of the parking lot) there is a V3/4 ultra classic highball and two beautiful V-Hard projects. The smaller boulder sitting just below the large block holds a number of easy and moderate problems and has a V7 crack line splitting its east face. Less than 100 meters north of these two blocks is another boulder, which holds two of Acadia’s most classic lines. This triangular overhanging boulder has a V4 lip traverse on the right arête and a V5/6 traverse on the left lip/arête. The left line also has an undone sit-start, which will undoubtedly become an area test piece.
